Roundtable on care
Our forthcoming dossier focuses on the theme of care and draws on a roundtable discussion that GENDER.ED recently co-hosted with the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships as part of a larger two-day event during which we hosted members from the Una Europa consortium who work on the theme of gender and sexualities.
The session was moderated and chaired by Professor Lynn Jamieson, one of the founding co-directors of the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships. In her opening comments, Prof. Jamieson invited academics who work on care to help us get started in thinking about future research agendas on this topic through the lens of their own research. This was an invitation to both reflect on their work, what it contributes to broader debates on care, and think about where the research needs to go now. The event was an inviting format with short interventions from the participants, followed by an open round of contributions from others in the room who work on care and wanted to share snippets of their own research, and then a round of Q and A. In the interests of space, we are not publishing all contributions but focusing rather on those from within the university and those from our guests from Una Europa.
