Chandreyee Goswami

Chandreyee Goswami is a PhD Candidate at the School of Social and Political Science. She works broadly on friendships, and looking at friendships within the university campus. The tentative title of her PhD project is "Exploring University Friendships in Northeast India: A study of relationships, youth culture, gender, and biographies in Northeast India." It looks at how university students negotiate with their ethnic identities, aspirations, notions of a gendered self and the gendered structure of the university through everyday interactions with friends. Chandreyee is looking at how all these experiences shape biographies in the context of living and growing up in the borderland region of Northeast India and the state of Assam.
