Marlies Kustatscher

Marlies Kustatscher (she/her) is a Senior Lecturer in Childhood Studies at the Moray House School of Education and Sport. She is a member of the Children and Young People Thematic Research Hub, and a Co-Convenor of the Race and Inclusivity in Global Education Network (RIGEN).

Her research interests include:

• Childhood and intersectionality
• Children’s human rights and participation
• The emotional politics of childhood
• Qualitative, participatory and arts-based research methodologies
• Interdisciplinary, arts-based approaches to activism and change with children and young people

Marlies currently works on projects on these themes with colleagues in Brazil, Colombia, Eswatini, Palestine, Scotland and South Africa.
