Please join us in conversation between Urvashi Butalia, the CEO of Zubaan Books - an imprint of Kali for Women, India's first feminist publishing house – and Dr Radhika Govinda, Director of GENDER.ED.

Drawing on Zubaan's experience, Urvashi Butalia will be exploring the creation of knowledge, the battle to get recognition for work that breaks boundaries and questions canons in terms of what counts as literature and research, and the forging of a new language to capture experiences patriarchal languages have made no space for. Shining a light on the politics of feminist publishing in the global south and knowledge production, as such, this event will be very useful for postgraduate research students, postdoctoral fellows and other academic colleagues.

This event is organised by GENDER.ED and co-badged by the Centre for South Asian Studies, CRITIQUE and the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities.
