Dario Banegas

Darío Luis Banegas (He/him) is Lecturer in Education in the Institute for Language Education, Moray House School of Education and Sport, and Deputy Director of Postgraduate Research. He is also one of the cohort leads for the MSc TESOL programme. Darío is interested in pre-service language teacher education, intersectionality in the language teacher education curriculum, student-teacher agency, and action research. Darío is currently leading a project on social justice in language teaching (funded by the Spencer Foundation) called "From social justice talk to social justice practice through collaborative action research: A pilot study on L2 materials development". He is also the convener of the Towards Intersectionality in Language Teacher Education (TILTED) Research Group, which includes an interest in gender and sexualities. He has previously carried out research on gender and sexualities by addressing language teaching and teacher education from a gender perspective. His co-edited volume “Gender diversity and sexuality in English language education: New transnational voices” published with Bloomsbury has been nominated for the British Association of Applied Linguistics Book Prize 2022-23
